I'm new to poetry. Though I would give it a shot and I'm having fun doing it. Please let me know if it's any good or if you have any constructive criticism because I have no idea haha. Thanks
That winter in the snowglobe
Lost in our world. We are comfortably numb. Our naïve fantasies. We are sucking our thumbs. Kept inside the globe. Surrounding glass walls. Driven by desire, our minds take the fall.
We are filled with false hope, and fake plastic snow. Someone is shaking us… but we don’t want to go. We are out of control. We are cold winter lust. We are hopeless and dreaming in the white plastic dust.
Cold metal elevator, up to the top floor. Teasing possibilities, leave us wanting more. Who needs summer romance, when winter is here? Inside the glass bubble we are safe from our fear.
We are holiday novelties. In a festive toy shop. Someone is shaking us, but we don’t want to stop. Everything is changing, ice covered paths. We have burned all the bridges, tossed all the maps. We are false silver snowflakes, we are lights on a tree. But someone is shaking us. I just want to be.
